My family and I spent the weekend at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, a true desert oasis. Surrounded by Saguaros, this resort is one of the top Arizona luxury resorts, It has stunning views of the Catalina Mountain range, and lots of amenities all within the resort itself. .
The resort is absolutely amazing, the customer service is top-of-the-line, and the on site restaurants have impeccable taste.
The resort has one main big pool in the very center of the resort, with poolside service, courtesy sunscreen and towels, for all you mommies that are absent minded like myself, and views of the Catalina Mountains. They also have an adult only pool, in case you want to get away without the kiddos. I would recommend a piña colada poolside!
They have an on-site, lake side spa and I was lucky enough to get a massage! If you go, ask for Peg! She is amazing! It’s the best massage I’ve ever had! Attached to the spa is a full women’s locker room, accompanied with steam room, sauna is, showers, and all the toiletries that you just happened to forget to pack! (They know me so well!)
They also have tennis courts, banquet halls, golf, and an exercise room! The exercise room even has Netflix streaming! Now that’s my kind of working out!
The customer service is top-of-the-line, the staff comes by every night to turn over your room, and provide you with water bottles. They were constantly asking if we needed anything additional, and making sure our stay was pleasant. They even provided Charlie with a cookie making set upon arrival… To which mommy enjoyed some of the dessert as well! (Shh)
Warning: If your hungry, do not proceed any further. Whether you have a taste for grilled salmon and sushi, ribs and BBQ sauce, pork loin and burgers, seasonal grilled vegetables, Loews Ventana Canyon has a dining experience you won’t want to miss. No wonder the brunch is rated #1 in Tucson. The Blues, Brews & BBQ Sunday Brunch is by far the best brunch I’ve ever been to. The food is out of this world. They have a live blues singer on the patio and a full menu of items such as a sushi table, a dessert table, a pancake machine (what!!!), an omlet bar and so much more. And when I say table, I’m not talking about a little dinky counter… I’m talking about long extended tables with so many choices, so much good food, that you won’t need to eat for days after you eat this brunch. Not only that, but they also have unlimited beers on tap from local breweries. The ambience is amazing, you can sit inside or outside.
And if all this wasn’t convincing enough, “Loews Loves Kids” and the proof is evident. The have an onsite “Kids Closet” offering items available for guests to use during their stay. These include toys, books, strollers, night-lights, potty seats, baby bathtub, baby blankets, outlet protectors, and more. The restaurants offer children’s menus with healthy options plus fun books with crayons, all very reasonably priced.

When I think of Arizona, I think of warm weather, wildflowers, breath taking sunsets and a desert filled with cacti and mountains. And I also think of pools, laying out and catching some rays and time outdoors with Charlie. To me, Arizona is the perfect place to spend time outside.
Charlie and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Resort, El Conquistador located in Tucson Arizona. The hotel was a true desert oasis. The resort spans over 80 acres of desert and had amenities that will provide for an unforgettable vacation.
While at the resort, Charlie and I spent the majority of our time at the swimming pools. Charlie’s favorite pool was the kid pool (of course), it was private and quiet and had a zero edge entrance that Charlie loved to run in and out of. I like that the resort kept the kids pool away from the large pool, so that I did not feel like Charlie was being too loud when others were trying to relax.
My favorite pool was the main oasis pool, located in the middle of the resort, surrounded by grass and palms trees and accompanied by a poolside bar and grill. And let me tell you… the grill food is amazing! I would definitely recommend the burger, it was perfect. Tommy, the poolside server had the best customer service skills and was so friendly.
And if you are anything like me, then you like hot tubs. El Conquistador has a super secluded, private, and quiet hot tub located right next to an ice pool.
I loved that the entire time at the resort, I never had to leave. The resort had an on site gym (with treadmills that streamed Netflix…gasp!…), on site restaurants and even a full buffet style breakfast (that served Lox Bagels… my favorite!). They even served sunscreen, water and towels by the pool (for all you absent minded parents like myself).
Overall, the resort was beautiful, fun, and one for the books! Thank you El Conquistador for having us!
My family and I recently visited Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort and let me make this short and simple… you need to go and visit this historic hotel. Not only does it have fantastic history (like a Katharine Hepburn + Spencer Tracy suite that they actually stayed in! gasp…) but it has an infinity pool overlooking the Catalina mountains, an amazing restaurant on the resort, patios overlooking the desert sunset, jacuzzi hot tubs in the rooms, and spacious SPACIOUS rooms (with fireplaces). Everyone at the resort was so friendly and accommodating, especially Bones, props to him! He always greeted me by “Mrs Abbadessa” with the biggest smile on his face. I can not say enough good things about this resort!

The food though…
We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at The Grill at Hacienda del Sol. The food was impeccable, the customer service exceeded expectations, and the views of the Catalina Mountains from the dining room was one for the books. Spencer, the server at the Grill and Jaime, the bartender were so friendly and made the dining experience even better.
For breakfast I had a Bloody Mary and the Smoked Salmon plate. I won’t lie, if Lox is on the menu, I’m ordering it. The Smoked Salmon plate is a Lox plate, with a petit baguette, chive cream cheese, red onion, tomato, capers and plenty of salmon to even have leftovers. I would definitely recommend.
For lunch, I ordered the Green Chile Cioppino. It had Mahi-Mahi, Mussels, Peruvian Potatoes, Green Chiles Tomato, and a Grilled Focaccia to top it off. The Mussels were absolutely to die for… I wanted an entire bowl of just mussels. I would definitely recommend.
For mid day snack, we ordered the Artisanal Cheese Plate. It was filled with Saint Andre, Spanish Manchego and Danish Blue House-made Jam, Marcona Almonds Marinated Olives, Fresh Berries Grilled Focaccia, and Hayden Mills Crackers. It was amazing! I would definitely recommend.
Dinner Recommendations: Fried Octopus and Scallops
Desert Recommendations: Carrot Three Way

The rooms were so spacious, clean, comfortable and the views out of the patio were amazing during sunsets. The resort is located in the foothills, but it seems like you are in another world in the middle of a desert. The entire resort is secluded, quiet, and super relaxing. There are no city lights or loud city noise.
Room Recommendation: #38 (Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn suite)
And if the resort wasn’t enough for you, you can even visit the horses and go horseback riding. Visit them here: http://www.haciendadelsol.com/amenities/horseback-riding/
My best friend and I recently enjoyed a girls trip away to Sedona accompanied by Charlie too of course. We were lucky enough to stay at the Kimpton Amara.
The drive into just the front entrance is enough of a view to appease anyone. It was absolutely breath taking. Somewhere in between the seasonal changes and the view of the red rock mountain, sits the perfectly hidden and exclusive, Kimpton Amara.
And that was just the beginning….
We became neighbors to the heated infinity pool and hot tub. Walking into the room, we were greeted by a bottle of wine, chips and salsa, and extra bottles of water, as well as a note thanking us for coming to stay. Because let’s be honest, it’s the little things like this is life that matter. The room had the most perfect view of the red rock mountain, the fall trees and the most perfect yard with yellow Adirondack chairs, corn hole bags, and fire pits.
The hotel provided free bike rentals, a free shuttle, and shopping within walking distance!
I could of moved in… this resort is perfect!

The SaltRock dining was also one for the books. Our favorites? The morning mimosas and the Salmon bagel (that comes with a whipped avocado spread).
And just in case you needed more pictures to be convinced😘
