I had the pleasure of visiting Gold Canyon Golf Resort and Spa this past week and was beyond impressed by the resort. One of the most impressive aspects of this resort is that it combines hotel, spa, golf, on site restaurants, and a wedding venue all in one location.
The resort is located in the desert Arizona landscape in the mountains of Gold Canyon with amazing views of the Superstition Mountains. When you drive up, you enter through unique small roads up the mountain and find casitas lined up, extremely secluded and quiet. Its beautiful and I absolutely love the entire outline of the resort. There are no “seventh story no window views.” Every room is an individual casita like style room, which is unique and intimate all at once.
Gold Canyon Golf Resort & Spa is ranked in the top ten for wedding venues in Arizona. And if you are searching for a place, you must go and get a tour. They have several different wedding venues to choose from, views that are breathtaking, and wedding packages that are affordable, and easy! And… they not only make sure the bride and groom are taken care of, but wedding guests also enjoy full service Resort which includes: Hotel, Restaurant, Spa & Salon and 2 – 18 hole Championship Golf Courses. Since when does your wedding party get pampered too? And everything is centrally located, all within the resort! Here are a few pictures of one of the venue options:
And… when you book a wedding package… it comes with a bridal suite. And… wait for it… the bridal suite is over 1,000 square feet and accompanied with an indoor hot tub, 2 showers, 2 bathrooms, a living room, a master, 2 fireplaces, a washer and dryer, a full size fridge, microwave, stove top, and 2 patios. (Mind blown…) Here are some pictures of the included Bridal Suite with a wedding package:
And wait… they also have an outdoor pool, and hot tub and it’s within walking distance of every single room in the resort. Here are some shots:
The resort also has golf (and who doesn’t love golf). The resort fee includes unlimited access to range balls as well! Gold Canyon Golf Resort offers two 18-hole Championship golf courses, Dinosaur Mountain and Sidewinder. Dinosaur Mountain is rate one of the top course in Arizona.
And lastly, as if you were not sold yet… They have a quiet, intimate restaurant that overlooks the Superstition Mountains and has some amazing views of the valley sunsets. The Kokopelli Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is also centrally located in the resort.

When I think of Arizona, I think of warm weather, wildflowers, breath taking sunsets and a desert filled with cacti and mountains. And I also think of pools, laying out and catching some rays and time outdoors with Charlie. To me, Arizona is the perfect place to spend time outside.
Charlie and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Resort, El Conquistador located in Tucson Arizona. The hotel was a true desert oasis. The resort spans over 80 acres of desert and had amenities that will provide for an unforgettable vacation.
While at the resort, Charlie and I spent the majority of our time at the swimming pools. Charlie’s favorite pool was the kid pool (of course), it was private and quiet and had a zero edge entrance that Charlie loved to run in and out of. I like that the resort kept the kids pool away from the large pool, so that I did not feel like Charlie was being too loud when others were trying to relax.
My favorite pool was the main oasis pool, located in the middle of the resort, surrounded by grass and palms trees and accompanied by a poolside bar and grill. And let me tell you… the grill food is amazing! I would definitely recommend the burger, it was perfect. Tommy, the poolside server had the best customer service skills and was so friendly.
And if you are anything like me, then you like hot tubs. El Conquistador has a super secluded, private, and quiet hot tub located right next to an ice pool.
I loved that the entire time at the resort, I never had to leave. The resort had an on site gym (with treadmills that streamed Netflix…gasp!…), on site restaurants and even a full buffet style breakfast (that served Lox Bagels… my favorite!). They even served sunscreen, water and towels by the pool (for all you absent minded parents like myself).
Overall, the resort was beautiful, fun, and one for the books! Thank you El Conquistador for having us!
My family and I recently visited Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort and let me make this short and simple… you need to go and visit this historic hotel. Not only does it have fantastic history (like a Katharine Hepburn + Spencer Tracy suite that they actually stayed in! gasp…) but it has an infinity pool overlooking the Catalina mountains, an amazing restaurant on the resort, patios overlooking the desert sunset, jacuzzi hot tubs in the rooms, and spacious SPACIOUS rooms (with fireplaces). Everyone at the resort was so friendly and accommodating, especially Bones, props to him! He always greeted me by “Mrs Abbadessa” with the biggest smile on his face. I can not say enough good things about this resort!

The food though…
We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at The Grill at Hacienda del Sol. The food was impeccable, the customer service exceeded expectations, and the views of the Catalina Mountains from the dining room was one for the books. Spencer, the server at the Grill and Jaime, the bartender were so friendly and made the dining experience even better.
For breakfast I had a Bloody Mary and the Smoked Salmon plate. I won’t lie, if Lox is on the menu, I’m ordering it. The Smoked Salmon plate is a Lox plate, with a petit baguette, chive cream cheese, red onion, tomato, capers and plenty of salmon to even have leftovers. I would definitely recommend.
For lunch, I ordered the Green Chile Cioppino. It had Mahi-Mahi, Mussels, Peruvian Potatoes, Green Chiles Tomato, and a Grilled Focaccia to top it off. The Mussels were absolutely to die for… I wanted an entire bowl of just mussels. I would definitely recommend.
For mid day snack, we ordered the Artisanal Cheese Plate. It was filled with Saint Andre, Spanish Manchego and Danish Blue House-made Jam, Marcona Almonds Marinated Olives, Fresh Berries Grilled Focaccia, and Hayden Mills Crackers. It was amazing! I would definitely recommend.
Dinner Recommendations: Fried Octopus and Scallops
Desert Recommendations: Carrot Three Way

The rooms were so spacious, clean, comfortable and the views out of the patio were amazing during sunsets. The resort is located in the foothills, but it seems like you are in another world in the middle of a desert. The entire resort is secluded, quiet, and super relaxing. There are no city lights or loud city noise.
Room Recommendation: #38 (Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn suite)
And if the resort wasn’t enough for you, you can even visit the horses and go horseback riding. Visit them here: http://www.haciendadelsol.com/amenities/horseback-riding/
My best friend and I recently enjoyed a girls trip away to Sedona accompanied by Charlie too of course. We were lucky enough to stay at the Kimpton Amara.
The drive into just the front entrance is enough of a view to appease anyone. It was absolutely breath taking. Somewhere in between the seasonal changes and the view of the red rock mountain, sits the perfectly hidden and exclusive, Kimpton Amara.
And that was just the beginning….
We became neighbors to the heated infinity pool and hot tub. Walking into the room, we were greeted by a bottle of wine, chips and salsa, and extra bottles of water, as well as a note thanking us for coming to stay. Because let’s be honest, it’s the little things like this is life that matter. The room had the most perfect view of the red rock mountain, the fall trees and the most perfect yard with yellow Adirondack chairs, corn hole bags, and fire pits.
The hotel provided free bike rentals, a free shuttle, and shopping within walking distance!
I could of moved in… this resort is perfect!

The SaltRock dining was also one for the books. Our favorites? The morning mimosas and the Salmon bagel (that comes with a whipped avocado spread).
And just in case you needed more pictures to be convinced😘
Whether needing a weekend away for a relaxing staycation or dropping in from out of town, us here at @babybums found the perfect boutique hotel to visit.
We had the pleasure of visiting a local boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Phoenix called FOUND:RE. When I walked into the lobby I was pleasantly surprised by the uniqueness of the hotel. The vibe was modern, chic, and hip. I immediately felt as if I were visiting an art museum. I found myself surrounded by amazing arts of all kinds, created by local Phoenix artists. Charlie ran around screaming with joy… trying to touch everything. I immediately regretted not bringing my stroller to detain him.
The FOUND:RE private pool area was secluded, quiet, and ever so relaxing for a staycation. They even had poolside drink and food service which had me ordering cold brewed coffee all throughout the day.

Remember the old days when you could call the front desk and set a wake up call? I remember my uncles playing tricks on my parents and waking them up at the crack of dawn… well no more wake up calls. No more phones actually. They have touch screen pads where you can request any service (including housekeeping, guest services, even room service!)
The room was spacious, modern, and appealing to the eye. The view of the city was impeccable and provided the best monsoon spectacle for the evening.

Perfectly placed in Downtown Scottsdale, the Hotel Valley Ho is the perfect place to staycation this summer. It’s location makes it prime as its just steps away from the downtown vibrant Scottsdale culture, the inventive dining and trendy nightlife.
My family recently stayed at the Hotel Valley Ho and enjoyed a one-of-a-kind getaway!

The ZuZu serves enticing, inventive American fare from Chef Russell LaCasce along with yummy festive cocktails. You and your family can dine inside, on the shaded patio, or if your feeling sunburnt from spending all day at the oasis, you can order it bed side. They serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.
Want some secret advice? The Hotel Valley Ho charges $18 per day, plus tax for valet parking. Plus an additional $10 a day per vehicle (if you have friends join you). Park along 69th for free city parking and use that $18 on an extra drink poolside!
The Hotel Valley Ho has two remarkable pools. I took Charlie (my 2 year old) to the resort so we spent almost all of our time at the OHasis pool. The OHasis Pool is a tranquil retreat, ideal for leisurely laps, lounging, and even features a small pool for children. Its the perfect spot to relax under towering palms. Don’t waste your time packing pool towels and water bottles, all the pools have ice cold fresh water available and towels. And if water is’nt up your alley, refreshing cocktails can be delivered in a snap.
